Definitely old news.
Regardless if the Swift Boat folks were "demonized", they helped Bush and the GOP accomplish what they needed-something to make Kerry look bad so they could re-win another election. That video was made by people against Kerry and most of its "facts" are not confirmed and/or outright misleads and lies.
What amazed me about the GOP and Bush was that this may have been the first time politicians (espeically one that never really served his country) set out to "prove" an honored and medaled veteran didn't deserve and/or lied about his service. Shameless mudslinging.
I imagine a lot of things happen in battle and long tours of duty that aren't fully reported, especially if they show some soldiers in a bad light. I also imagine every soldier might see the same event differently (hell, that happens in minor car accidents-can you imagine how a life-threatening battle might affect one's perception?). When Kerry turned against the war, I believe he did it as a soldier/officer who saw serious problems out there. He followed his heart and I admire him for that. I also admire his voting record in Congress. Something that says a lot about his dedication to his country.
FYI: An analysis of the Swift Boat folks will show a certain number of them had personal ties with Bush, Cheney, and other key Bush administration officials. Those guys weren't biased at all. [img]graemlins/wonder.gif[/img]
That election is over and done. Our country is currently paying for it, too.
Of course, all of this is my 2 cents and I no longer have links to the stuff, but I tried to use legit sources as even some "liberal" sites could be overzealous in their defense of certain politicians.
Everything must be read with a grain of salt or two.
